About Property Appraisal

The Montgomery County Auditor is mandated by the state to conduct a full reappraisal of all properties within the county for tax purposes every six years. During the process of reappraisal, the Auditor physically inspects all properties to update the characteristics of the properties. The last reappraisal in Montgomery County was made in 2020. Three years after the reappraisal, the Auditor is required to make a market update of properties which is called the Triennial Update. The recent update is made in 2023. During the Triennial Update, the property values are adjusted based on the sales prices of properties in the neighborhood over the past three years.

If the property owners disagree with their appraised property values, they have the right to file an appeal with the Board of Revision (BOR) between January 1 and April 1, 2024. To file a property value appeal, please complete the BOR complaint form first.
