The Portage County Auditor is the Chief Fiscal Officer and the Tax Assessor within Portage County. As the Chief Fiscal Officer, the Auditor is responsible for paying bills to creditors for obligations incurred or services provided including preparing the payroll for all county offices and agencies. In addition, the Auditor also serves as the administrator of the Data Processing Board, and the secretary for the Board of Revision and the County Budget Commission. As the Tax Assessor, the Auditor is in charge of establishing tax rates for real estate, personal property, and manufactured homes and distributing the taxes to local government entities in the county. Besides, the Auditor also keeps property ownership records to help the County Treasurer prepare real estate tax bills and collect taxes.

You need to choose one of the search criteria - Search by Owner Name, Search by Location Address, Search by Parcel Number, Search by Legal Description, Search by Neighborhood, and Intersection Search.
Then enter the relevant information in the search field and click the "Search" button.
You will get a wealth of information about the property, including summary, map, land, dwellings, additions, improvements, value, tax, payments, sales, sketches, property cards, etc.
How to Estimate the Property Taxes?
If you want to estimate your property taxes, there is a Tax Estimator Tool on the website.
First, you need to select the tax district. Second, choose the classification of your property. Third, enter the 100% market value of your property. Fourth, enter the additional millage, if any. Finally, click the "Compute" button at the bottom.
