Wood County Auditor Property Search
The Wood County Auditor has the legal responsibility for valuing all parcels of properties for tax purposes within Wood County. In addition, the Auditor is also in charge of keeping property maps, calculating tax rates, administering applications for tax exemptions, distributing all tax revenue for the county, etc. Matthew Oestreich was elected Wood County Auditor in November 2018.
How are the Properties Valued?
The Wood County Auditor is required by Ohio law to make a general revaluation of all properties every six years with a triennial update the third year following the revaluation. The values of the properties should be updated every three years. Wood County had a revaluation in 2017, a triennial update in 2020, and have conducted another revaluation in 2023. Sales data of the properties from 2020, 2021, and 2022 are examined and utilized to revalue each property in the county for the 2023 revaluation, with a special emphasis on the sales in 2022. In order to make sure that the final valuation is accurate, every parcel is examined and inspected visually by the Auditor.
