The Franklin County Auditor is the chief fiscal officer of Franklin County, who is responsible for protecting the county funds that benefit Franklin County's citizens and supervising the weights and measures to ensure fair transactions at retail stores and other places. In addition, the Auditor is also in charge of a wide range of significant duties that have an impact on all of Franklin County's citizens and businesses, including assessing all properties within the county for tax purposes, assisting the aged, disabled, and veteran individuals in applying for tax exemptions, and licensing the doges as required by the law.

How are the Properties Appraised?
The Franklin County Auditor's office is in charge of keeping up to date and managing all property-related documents, including determining the value of every parcel of property within the county. The County Auditor is required by Ohio law to make a comprehensive reappraisal of all properties every six years and make an update at the third-year midpoint to adjust values to reflect the recent changes in the real estate marketplace.
