It is the duty of the Geauga County Auditor to ensure that finances are used legally and that tax revenues are allocated fairly in Geauga County. The Geauga County Auditor’s Office is responsible for maintaining general accounting records, creating financial reports, establishing procedures for the County's receipts and disbursements, processing and auditing accounting procedures for bills, payroll, and grants, ensuring compliance with purchasing laws, conducting required reviews of other officials' records, and creating annual budget revenue estimates.

How are the Properties Appraised?

There are over 51,000 separate parcels of properties in Geauga County. The County Auditor is in charge of fairly and uniformly appraising and assessing every parcel of land and buildings thereon for tax purposes. According to Ohio Law, a general reappraisal of all properties should be made every six years with an update at the three-year midpoint of the six-year cycle. The detailed record of the appraisal of each property (Property Record Card) is kept by the County Auditor’s Office and is open to the public. There are four search criteria - Search by Owner Name, Search by Location Address, Search by Parcel Number, and Search by Sales.
Choose the search criterion you prefer from the left of the page and enter the relevant items in the search fields.
Then click the "Search" button, and you will get a wealth of information about the property, including summary, tax, transfer history, payment history, value history, dwellings, improvements, sketch, tax card, etc.
