Clermont County Auditor

The Clermont County Auditor has the legal duty of appraising all properties within Clermont County for tax purposes, dealing with the applications for tax exemptions, accounting for tax money, and distributing the taxes to the county agencies.

How to Appraise and Assess the Properties?

The Clermont County Auditor is responsible for fairly and uniformly appraising and assessing nearly 95,000 separate parcels of property in Clermont County. According to Ohio law, a general reappraisal should be made every six years. In order to reflect current sales trends, an update is made three years after a reappraisal, which is called the "Triennial Update". The appraised value determined by the Auditor reflects the fair market value of the property. The taxable value is 35% of the fair market value.

If you do not agree with your property valuation, there is a remedy for you. You can file an appeal with the Clermont County Board of Revision from January 1st to March 31st. You need to complete a form named Complaint Against the Valuation of Real Property first.
