Union County Auditor Property Search
The Union County Auditor is the Chief Fiscal Officer and the Chief Assessor of the Union County. As the Chief Fiscal Officer, the Auditor is in charge of the financial accounts of every County Board, department, office, agency, or district. It is the duty of the Auditor to ensure that the County Union funds are used lawfully and the taxes revenues are allocated fairly. As the Chief Assessor, the Auditor is responsible for determining the values of all properties for tax purposes within the county. In addition, the Auditor also annually reviews the tax budgets of all taxing districts, hears property valuation complaints, administers tax exemptions, and supervises all County technology decisions.
About the Property Appraisal
According to Ohio Law, the Auditor should make a general reappraisal of real property every six years with an update of property values every three years. There are now approximately 32,800 parcels of properties in Union County. It is the job of the Auditor to fairly and uniformly appraise and assess every parcel of land and the buildings thereon. The last reappraisal in Union County was performed in 2019. The Auditor’s office keeps a detailed record of the appraisal which is open to the public.
