Fairfield County Property Tax
Your Assessed Value is calculated by multiplying your Market Value by 35%, and the Assessed Value is then multiplied by the Effective Tax Rate for your political subdivision to get the Gross Tax. If you do not agree with the value determined by the Auditor, you can file an appeal with the Auditors - the Board of Revisions, where you can download the appeal form. You can also contact the Board of Revisions at 740-652-7030. You need to file the appeal from the date when you receive your first half tax bill in December to March 31 each year.
The first half of 2022 property taxes are due no later than February 16, 2023, and the second half property taxes are due no later than July 20, 2023. There are five methods of paying property taxes - Pay by Mail, Pay in Person, Pay Online, Pay by Telephone, and Pay by the drive-thru or Treasurer’s drop box. If you have any questions about the payment of property taxes, please contact the Fairfield County Treasurer.
