Franklin County Property Tax
The property tax is calculated by multiplying the tax rate by the value of the property, which is paid by the property owners to support the operation of the local government. The factors that can change the property's value include the physical changes to the property, the demolition of an existing structure, and the filed complaint approved by the Franklin County Board of Revision. Since property taxes can be deducted from federal income taxes, a lot of taxpayers pay their entire taxes by December 31 every year. The dates of collection in 2023 are January 31, 2023 (First Half) and June 20, 2023 (Second Half).
There are various methods of property-tax payment you can use to pay your taxes - pay online, pay in person, and pay by mail. You can also apply for the Budget Payment Program to pay your property taxes on a monthly basis. For more information about the property-tax payment, please check the Payments page or contact the Franklin County Treasurer.
