Wayne County Property Tax
As one of the oldest taxes and the most stable tax bases, real estate property tax is the taxable value of land and buildings. Different districts have different tax rates, depending on all levies approved by the voters or legislative bodies in the district. According to Ohio law, the amount of property taxes assessed by the local government should be no more than 10 million. The taxes collected from the homeowners are generally distributed to the County, the School District, the Joint Vocational School District, the Township, the City, the Mental Health and Fire Districts, the Library, etc. Real estate tax bills are issued in January/February (First Half) and June/July (Second Half) each year with due dates on the bills.
